Applied Welding Technology
Program Description
The purpose of this program is to prepare students for employment as welders or to provide supplemental training for persons previously or currently employed in these occupations. The content includes, but is not limited to, communication skills, leadership skills, human relations and employability skills, safe and efficient work practices, use of blueprints and shop drawings, use of gases and/or welding processes and braze parts according to diagrams, blue prints or written specifications. The minimum grade level required by the state for program completers is 9.0 in reading, language, and math.
Job Opportunities

There are many opportunities for persons trained as welders or welder’s helpers with skills in Shielded Metal Arc, Gas – Metal Arc, Flux – Metal Arc, Gas Tungsten Arc, and Pipe Welding/Fitting.
Program Costs
The tuition cost for this program is $2.78 per 1,170 clock hours for a total of $3,252.60 and $300.00 lab fee per semester. The total cost for textbooks is $50.00. This does not cover work boots or any additional program costs.
